BIO

Craig Ross, Jr. was born in Boston, Massachusetts. At an early age he and his father moved to the San Francisco Bay area. After graduating high school, Craig went back to the east coast to attend the film school at New York University.

After graduating film school, Craig traveled around the country. He eventually landed in Los Angeles, where he established his production company Asiatic Associates (ASA). ASA in its first four years made three short films:
"Something in the air", "The Members," and "The 22nd Floor".

In 1998 ASA completed work on its first feature length film entitled, "CAPPUCCINO". Written, directed, and produced by Craig, this black and white, film noir style tale was shot on 16mm film with a budget of less than $10,000. "Cappuccino" won the BEST FEATURE FILM at the 1998 Black Filmmaker's Hall of Fame Awards, BEST DIRECTOR at the 1998 Independent Feature Project's Gordon Parks Award, and The Melvin Van Peebles Maverick Award at the 1999 Juneteenth film festival.

In 2001 ASA finished its biggest film to date. Written and Directed by Craig, on a budget of 1.7 million, "BLUE HILL AVENUE", a contemporary gangster movie, about the introduction of "crack" into the black section of Boston, stars Allen Payne, Clarence Williams III, William Forsythe, Andrew Divoff and Richard Lawson.
